Kangana Ranaut is all set to leave behind the failures of her last four films — I Love NY, Katti Batti, Rangoon and Simran. She is soon going to be seen in Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi, and the film has been allotted a release date.

Manikarnika will not be the only film to release on that day as Hrithik Roshan’s Super 30, a film on Bihar mathematician Anand Kumar.

In the light of the controversy surrounding their names, it will be interesting to see how they go about promoting their films.

Manikarnika was born in Varanasi in 1828 into a family of Maharashtrian Brahmins. She took the name of Lakshmi Bai after tying the knot with the king of Jhansi, Raja Gangadhar Rao Newalkar. The king died without a biological heir but the couple adopted a six-year-old boy from his extended family a few weeks prior to his death.

On the work front, Kangana is currently shooting in London for Mental Hai Kya in which she will be seen alongside Rajkummar Rao. After she completes some pending patchwork for Manikarnika, she will begin work on Ashwini Iyer Tiwary’s next in which she will be seen as a kabbadi player.
