Beyond his renowned character roles, Matthew Perry’s legacy will live on.
The Matthew Perry Foundation launched its website on Friday, with the goal statement “the realization of Matthew’s enduring commitment to helping others struggling with the disease of addiction.” It will be inspired by his thoughts and experiences, as well as his desire to make a difference in as many lives as possible.”
Perry died at the age of 54, less than a week before the organization’s official launch. On Oct. 28, paramedics discovered him motionless at his Los Angeles home, and an inquiry into the cause is ongoing.
Prior to his death, the Emmy-nominated “Friends” star was planning to start a foundation to assist individuals struggling with addiction, according to PEOPLE.
Perry had been outspoken about his decades-long fight with alcohol and drug addiction, as well as his desire to assist others in their battles.
