Bhubaneswar: Former IAS officer Aparajita Sarangi will join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in New Delhi on November 27, said party sources.
Aparajita will join BJP in presence national president Amit Shah, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other senior leaders.
Former Odisha DG Prakash Mishra will also join BJP in December, said party sources.
Sarangi will return to Odisha the following day where the state BJP leaders will welcome her at the state party headquarters in Bhubaneswar.
Speculation is rife that the former commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) would contest the 2019 elections from Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha seat or Bhubaneshwar central assembly constituency.
The 1994-batch bureaucrat took voluntary retirement from service (VRS) on November 17.
