Won’t be loser if TRS fails to win: KCR

Will go home and take rest’
Telangana Rashtra Samiti president and caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday told voters of Khanapur (ST) Assembly constituency that he would not be the loser even if his party loses in the election. “I will go home and take rest but you will be the losers,” he cautioned them.

Addressing the first of the four Praja Ashirwada public meetings at Khanapur town in old undivided Adilabad district, the CM said, “if we win, we will serve you,” while ‘exposing’ the role of the Congress and TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu during and after the separate Telangana movement.

The TRS chief severely criticised the Congress for merging Telangana with Andhra in 1956 and subsequently its role in suppressing the separate Telangana movement of 1969. He said the Congress is repeating its conspiracy to bring back Andhra rule by allying with Mr. Naidu in these election.

Mr. Rao addressed meetings at Ichoda town which is part of Boath (ST) constituency, Nirmal of Nirmal constituency and Bhainsa of Mudhole constituency. At Khanapur and Ichoda he also seemed to be in confessional mood briefly as he broached the subject of his government addressing issues and problems.

“It was a new State and we addressed problems one by one,” he observed at Khanapur public meeting. “Maybe it took longer for us to understand the finances and budget,” he stated at Ichoda.

Assurance to tribals
The TRS chief assured to solve land problems being faced by tribals and non-tribals in old united Adilabad, Khammam and Warangal districts, among other places in the State, once he comes back in power.

Dwelling upon the land issues, Mr. Rao claimed that he did solve some of the issues while at the helm. A permanent solution, however, was needed and he would find one within six months after the election, he promised.

Later at Nirmal and Mudhole meetings he spoke at length about the government’s effort to enhance reservation for Muslims as well as STs. While criticising the role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government in the issue, he hoped that a non-Congress, non-BJP federal government at Centre will be formed soon which will address the issue positively.

Talking of the controversy surrounding offer of bribe AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi to cancel his public meeting at Nirmal town three days back, Mr. Rao criticised the Congress party for stooping to lowest levels by doing so. The TRS president also criticised the Mahakutami, Congress and TDP. Party candidates A. Rekha Naik at Khanapur, Rathod Bapu Rao at Ichoda, A. Indrakaran Reddy at Nirmal and G. Vittal Reddy at Mudhole attended the meetings in addition to MP G. Nagesh and government representative in New Delhi S. Venugopalachary.
