TV actor Siddharth Shukla booked after his BMW crashes into three cars; one injured

The Oshiwara Police on Saturday booked television actor Siddharth Shukla for allegedly rashly driving his car, causing damage to multiple cars, and injuring a man on Saturday evening. According to police, Shukla was behind the wheel in his BMW, when he crashed into three cars, drove over a divider and ultimately crashed into an electric pole around 6pm.

Rajkumar Dube, a man who was in one of the cars that Shukla’s BMW crashed into, suffered minor injuries. “He could have lost control of the wheel. His own car has also been damaged,” said Shashikant Bhandare, Oshiwara, police inspector. “We have sent his blood samples for medical testing. Only after the results arrive will we be able to ascertain whether Shukla was under the influence of alcohol. Till now, we have not found any evidence of drink driving.”

Police said when the actor’s car crashed into the pole, the air bags did not open. “The actor was lucky to not suffer any serious injury. The locals rushed to the spot and took him out of the car after which we were called,” said the officer. Shukla did not flee the scene and has been cooperating with the investigation, said cops.

A case under sections 279 (punishment for rash driving), 336 (punishment for endangering life of others) and 337 (punishment for causing hurt by endangering personal safety) of the IPC was registered till the time of going to press.
