Raj Kundra cleared the air on Friday, hours after sparking divorce rumours with his wife, actress Shilpa Shetty, with another social media post. “We have separated and kindly request you to give us time during this difficult period,” he wrote in an early morning cryptic post.
As speculations of his divorce spread, he made another post stating that he was actually separating—not from his wife, but from the face masks that had “protected” him for the past two years. The actor-producer captioned a video of his collection of face masks, “Farewell Masks…it’s time to separate now!” Thank you for keeping me safe for the past two years. Now for the next stage of my adventure. #UT69″

Kundra is now promoting UT69, in which he takes on the role of himself. The plot concentrates around the events that lead to Kundra’s arrest in 2021 on suspicion of creating and disseminating pornographic content. Kundra has not showed his face to the public or paparazzi since being released on bail in September 2021. Every time he comes out, he is wearing a different style of mask that totally covers his face.
Taking off the mask in front of the media at the latest trailer unveiling for UT69, he stated, “I wore the mask out of pain.” The media trial was excruciating. It was more terrible than my current legal proceedings.”
The teaser depicts his time as an undertrial at Mumbai’s Arthur Road prison. Shahnawaz Ali directs the film.
