Sambalpur: Unidentified miscreants made an unsuccessful bid to loot State Bank of India’s Jamankira branch at Kuchinda area in Sambalpur district last night.
According to sources, while the miscreants were entering the bank when the siren started blowing as they approached towards the room. They tried to disconnect it but in vain.
On intimation, a night patrolling unit immediately rushed to the spot but the looters had fled by then.
Though the miscreants failed to make away with any cash and valuables, they have damaged the CCTV camera installed in the bank, police said adding that further probe into the incident is underway.
