Drone Surveillance on Gurupriya Setu and Bhubaneswar Soon: DGP

Bhubaneswar: In order to ensure protection of the bridge and for the security of the people of the cut-off areas of Malkangiri District, the Odisha Police has planned to start drone surveillance on Gurupriya Bridge along with Capital City Bhubaneswar.

The Odisha Police will obtain two drone cameras which will cost Rs.15 lakh each.

Traffic movement has begun on Gurupriya Bridge, now the Odisha Police can plan operations in the cut-off areas. Earlier, all the operations were executed from Andhra Pradesh, said DGP R.P. Sharma.

He also informed that the road construction by Road and Building Division of Malkangiri has already begun, and there will be need of redeployment of forces which has already completed in some places.

The Odisha Police is planning to intensify operations in the Maoist-dominated areas, with an aim to completely free the area from Naxals, said Sharma

Earlier, the district administration had installed CCTV cameras with a cost of Rs. 40 lakh for better security in the region.
