CM Naveen Patnaik Launches ‘BASUDHA’ Helpline Number

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has launched BASUDHA helpline number-1916 today for rural water supply grievance. The CM unveiled the logo of Buxi Jagabandhu Assured Drinking Water to all Habitations (BASUDHA).

Patnaik said, “BASUDHA helpline- 1916, a dedicated grievance management initiative for rural water supply in the State has been opened today for the public. I hope rural people will get access to record their complaints regarding breakdown and non-functioning of projects.”

According to sources, the helpline is launched to receive complaints regarding drinking water supply in rural areas between 6 am and 6 pm. All the BASUDHA grievances will be attended in a time bound manner.

In the last 18 months, the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department has launched 4,200 new piped water supply projects that are being execute in various stages. A total of 65 mega piped water supply projects with and outlay of over Rs. 10,500 crore have been conceptualised.

Around 3,000 solar dual pumps have been installed and over 2,500 water quality affected habitations have been provided with safe drinking water.
