West Indies captain Jason Holder won the toss and opted to bowl first against England in the second Test of the three-match series in Manchester on Thursday. The toss was delayed due to a light drizzle in the morning, and the pitch was covered.
England will see the return of captain Joe Root after he missed the Southampton Test, which the visitors won by four wickets.
The hosts have made four changes to their side: Stuart Broad, Chris Woakes and Sam Curran have replaced James Anderson, Mark Wood and Jofra Archer. Root has taken the place of Joe Denly following the latter’s dismal outing in the first Test.
Archer, meanwhile, was dropped from the match after he breached the bio-secure protocols.
West Indies lead 1-0 the three-match series after winning the first Test in Southampton, and have made no changes in their side for the second match. West Indies will look to clinch their first Test series victory in England in 32 years.
