Over 10,000 CPI, Congress, BJP Members Join BJD in Ganjam

Berhampur: In a major boost to the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) ahead of 2019 elections, several top leaders of CPI, BJP and Congress along with over thousands of their supporters today joined the Odisha’s ruling party in Ganjam District.

Led by prominent CPI leader and former Sanakhemundi block chairman Antaryami Swain, more than 10,000 workers of CPI, Congress and BJP joined the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik-led party in a massive ‘Maha Mishrana Parba’ held in Sanakhemundi.

After joining the BJD, Swain said that Odisha has seen rapid developments in all fronts under the leadership of Naveen Patnaik.

The addition of new members will further strengthen the party in Ganjam District, said Revenue Minister Maheswar Mohanty, who is also the party’s observer for the district.
