Madhya Pradesh almost done, all eyes on Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh now

Kamal Nath is all set to become the next Madhya Pradesh CM as per TV channels. Scindia is said to have accepted the party high commands decision. Rahul is said to meet Gehlot and Pilot for the finalising Rajasthan’s top post later tonight.

Congress party will decide on the names of Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh CMs on Thursday.

The Congress legislature party (CLP) in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh had passed a resolution on Wednesday, 12 December, authorising party president Rahul Gandhi to decide who will be the chief minister.

In an impressive turn of events, Congress on Tuesday won 99 seats of the 199 in the Rajasthan Assembly, just one short of the halfway mark to form the government. The ruling BJP bagged 73 seats, BSP six, Bhartiya Tribal Party two, Rashtriya Loktantrik Party three, CPI (M) two and Rashtriya Lok Dal one. Vasundhara Raje resigned as CM on Tuesday, 11 December.
