Australia outplayed India in almost all the departments to clinch the five-match ODI series 3-2 thanks to a comfortable win in the fifth encounter in New Delhi on Wednesday.

On the other hand, it was not good news for Virat Kohli & Co. After this defeat, India became the only side to lose an ODI series (of five or more matches) on two occasions after leading 2-0.
The previous instance was back in 2005 when they took a 2-0 lead against Pakistan but went on to lose the six-match series 2-4.
Incidentally, Australia were the last visiting side to beat India in three consecutive ODI games at home. They did so on 2, 5, 8 November 2009 at Mohali, Hyderabad and Guwahati respectively.
Usman Khawaja struck his second century in three matches as Australia thumped India by 35 runs in their final one-dayer to seal a come-from-behind 3-2 series victory at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium on Wednesday.
Opener Khawaja strengthened his claim for a place in the World Cup squad with an elegant 100 to steer Australia to 272-9, though the tourists had looked on course to top 300 at one stage.
Adam Zampa (3-46) and his fellow bowlers then skittled India for 237 in exactly 50 overs to register their third successive victory as Australia overcame a 0-2 series deficit.
