Governor orders Vigilance probe into corruption charges against OUAT VC

Bhubaneswar: Governor Ganeshi Lal has ordered a Vigilance probe into the corruption charges made against the Vice-chancellor of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) Surendra Nath Pasupalak.

Lal also directed the Chief Secretary to submit the report within six weeks after the probe by the Vigilance department into the allegations of corruption levelled against the head of OUAT.
The move came after former Assistant Registrar of OUAT, Pramod Kumar Jena, filed two petitions levelling corruption charges against the VC in recruitment and manipulation of records of the varsity for his personal benefits.

In the letters to Minister for Agriculture and Panchayati Raj and Pro-Chancellor of OUAT, Jena alleged Pasupalak of misusing his position by manipulating records for personal benefit, erroneous advertisement in recruitment for Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) of OUAT.

OUAT Pro-Chancellor Pradeep Maharathy had forwarded the petitions to the Governor, the Chancellor of the university, as received from Jena.
