Sushant Singh case: Rhea Chakraborty appears before ED

Actress Rhea Chakraborty arrived at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Mumbai on Friday, in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. The ED rejected her earlier request to postpone the questioning till the SC hearing on her plea to transfer a Patna FIR to Mumbai.

Rhea is set to be questioned in the alleged money laundering case registered by ED, after it took cognisance of the FIR registered by Patna Police, based on Sushant’s father’s complaint. The late actor’s father K.K.Singh had alleged that Rs 15 crore was transferred from Sushant’s bank account to other accounts that had no connection with him.

“Rhea Chakraborty has requested that the recording of her statement be postponed till SC Hearing,” her advocate Satish Manshinde told ANI earlier on Friday.

The Supreme Court, on Wednesday, had asked the states of Maharashtra and Bihar, and Sushant Singh Rajput’s father to file replies on Rhea’s plea to transfer the FIR lodged against her in connection with Sushant’s death, from Patna to Mumbai. The hearing in the matter will be held after a week.

On Thursday, the CBI registered FIR against actor Rhea, Indrajit Chakraborty, Sandhya Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty, Samuel Miranda, and Shruti Modi in connection with the actor’s death. The Centre had, on Wednesday, accepted the Bihar government’s plea for CBI probe into the actor’s death. According to media reports, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the CBI, which is currently probing the bank fraud case against Vijay Mallya and the AgustaWestland chopper deal, will investigate the death of the actor.
