Singer SP Balasubrahmanyam has tested negative for the novel coronavirus. His son, SP Charan, in a statement, confirmed the same and added that his father is stable.

SP Charan issued a note to thank everyone for prayers, the Times of India reported. “Dear Media Friends – Thanks for Your Continous Support & Prayers for my father ..My father is fine and Stable and his Corona test has become Negative …Will keep u posted about the updates. The veteran singer was admitted to MGM Healthcare in Chennai with mild COVID-19 symptoms on August 5. On August 13, he was moved to the Intensive Care Unit and has been put on life support after his condition deteriorated.

Celebrities, as well as the general public across Tamil Nadu are praying for his recovery. His son SP Charan thanked all for the prayers and pointed out his father was ‘stable’ today though he was
‘critical’ on August 20. “But that doesn’t mean he has completely recovered. What
it means is there are no complications, all his vitals are working just fine and we have complete faith in the medical team and all the prayers that are coming our way. Glad he is being listed as stable,” Charan said in a video message.
