Bollywood actor Vijay Raaz has reportedly been arrested on Monday for allegedly molesting a crew member.
According to news agency ANI, Atul Kulkarni, Additional SP, Gondia, said, “Actor Vijay Raaz was arrested from Gondia yesterday allegedly for molesting a woman crew member. A case has been registered.”
The woman approached the police with a complaint of molestation against the actor on Monday, a police official said. She alleged that Raaz molested her during the shooting of the film Sherni in Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh on Monday.
An offence under section 354 (assault or criminal force to a woman with an intent to outrage her modesty) of the IPC was registered against Raaz and he was arrested from a hotel in Gondia where the crew is staying.
According to a Mumbai Mirror report, he was taken to Ramnagar Police station and was granted bail.
Following his arrest, shooting of the Vidya Balan starrer Sherni was stopped, say media reports.
Vijay Raaz was last seen in the movie Lootcase, a comedy thriller with Kunal Khemu in the lead.
