Odisha’s Jharsuguda Airport to Be Inaugurated on 22 Sept

Jharsuguda: Jharsuguda Airport, the second largest airport of Odisha, will be inaugurated on 22 September.

The airport has recently got 4-C category license from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to operate bigger aircraft like A-320 airbus.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the airport, which has been jointly developed by the Odisha Government and the Airports Authority of India.

The airport is spread over 909.22 acres. It is located 5 kilometers north-east of Jharsuguda in western Odisha.

Earlier, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had insisted the Centre to name the airport after the great freedom fighter Veer Surendra Sai, who belonged to the district.
