Low Pressure Likely to Trigger Heavy Rain in Next 24 Hours in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Due to the effect of a cyclonic circulation over north coastal Odisha, a low pressure area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours. In the effect of which heavy rain will likely to occur in most parts of the State.

As per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the circulation now persists over north coastal Odisha extending upto 7.6 km above the mean sea level tilting towards the south-southwestward direction. In its effect rain will continue in most parts of the State from 13 August till 16 August 2018.

As per the Regional Meteorological Department Bhubaneswar, coastal, north, and south Odisha will witness heavy rainfall on 14 and 15 August 2018. Heavy rain accompanied with lightning and thunderstorm activity will continue in the State.

Some parts of the State may experience very heavy rainfall and wind speed may reach up to 50-60 km per hour during this time.
