PM Modi Accepts IAS Officer Aparajita Sarangi’s Voluntary Retirement Plea

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi accepted the voluntary retirement plea of Odisha cadre IAS officer Aparajita Sarangi following State’s approval. Sarangi had applied for voluntary retirement from service on September 15 and was serving as the Joint Secretary of MGNREGA under Ministry of Rural Development. Her five-year tenure on central deputation ended in August.Confirming the news on Twitter, she wrote, “I just received my order finally approved by our Hon’ble Prime Minister today. I am grateful to him for his kind acceptance and approval. I look forward to the next journey with enthusiasm, positivity and optimism. I seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath and good wishes of all.”Senior IAS officer Aparajita Sarangi’s application for voluntary retirement was accepted by the Odisha Government on Wendesday (November 14). The State Government conveyed Sarangi’s cadre clearance to the Union Ministry of Personnel, along with the necessary Vigilance and Departmental clearances.Speaking to media, the 1994-batch IAS officer had earlier confirmed that she will be joining politics soon.“I am joining politics and want to join the nation building process. Whichever party offers that opportunity, I will be joining it as I am interested in the nation-building process. Once am inducted into a party, I will communicate,” Sarangi said.
