Malkangiri: Police on Wednesday rescued a pangolin and arrested eight persons from Chitrangapali village in Malkangiri district for their involvement in the smuggling.
The identities of the arrested were not ascertained immediately.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Kalimela police conducted a raid at Chitrangapali village this morning and apprehended the accused persons.
A case has been registered against the accused persons under relevant Section of the IPC and further probe into the matter is underway, the police said.
