Odisha Government on Monday requested Centre, seeking increase in honorarium of cook-cum-helpers working under the Mid-Day Meal (MDM) programme.
The School and Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra today written a letter to the Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Prakadh Javadekar to release the Government of India’s enhanced 60% share towards the honorarium.
Worth mentioning, the State Government has decided to enhance the honorarium of cook-cum-helpers from Rs 1000 to Rs 2,000 per month under its enhanced share of Rs 400 (40%) with effective from January, 2018, the letter said.
