Odisha govt hikes remuneration of Anganwadi workers, helpers

Bubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced a hike in monthly remuneration of Anganwadi workers and helpers with restrospective effect from Oct 1, 2018.

As per announcement, Anganwadi workers (AWWs) will now get Rs 7500 per month as against Rs 6000 which they were getting.

Mini AWWs will get Rs 5375 as against Rs 4125. Anganwadi helpers will now get Rs 3750 as against Rs 3000, said the Chief Minister.

Patnaik also announced several sops for Anganwadi workers including increasing superannuation age to 62 years, 15-day summer vacation and filling of 50% posts of supervisors from among the Anganwadi workers.
