Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has earned yet another feather in its cap by winning the prestigious the CBIP Award-2019 for ‘Effective Participatory Irrigation Management’.
The Central Board of Irrigation & Power (CBIP) has awarded the Water Resources Department of the Odisha Government for the effective participatory irrigation management.
The CBIP award recognizes the Odisha Government’s irrigation management achieved by minimizing the gap between potential created and potential utilized by managing Rational Irrigation through Pani Panchayat to the tail end farmers, through training and multi-disciplinary support to all stakeholders for improving capacity building through ADB, World Bank, JICA, RKVY and other Central and State assisted projects.
Odisha’s strive to boost agriculture through effective participatory irrigation management has now received national recognition – CBIP Award 2019, the Chief Minister’s Office said in a tweet.
Increased utilization of irrigation potential is a major fillip to farming & socio-economic growth of farmers, the CMO added.
