Kandhamal: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday announced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased and free treatment to all the injured persons in the Kandhamal road mishap today.
The Odisha Chief Minister announced the financial aid for the victims’ after expressing grief over the tragic incident. Terming the incident unfortunate, the CM conveyed his deep sympathy to the bereaved families.
CM @Naveen_Odisha expressed grief on the death of eight people in a road accident in Baliguda in Kandhamal district. He announced ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh each for next of kin of deceased and free medical treatment for all injured.

Notably, eight persons were killed and several others injured as a mini-truck overturned at Bangadadua ghat in Kandhamal district today.
Sources said the mishap occurred when the vehicle carrying over 40 persons was on the way to Brahmanigaon from Gadapur for an event. The driver of the vehicle lost control over the wheels following which the mini-truck turned turtle and plunged into a gorge.
