BJD Stages Demonstration Against Fuel Price Hike

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today staged a demonstration in front of the Governor’s House here protesting against the hike in prices of petrol and diesel.

Hundreds of activists of Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD) and Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD), the youth and women wing Biju Mahila Janata Dal (BMJD) have joined the massive demonstration in front of the Raj Bhavan.

The BJD demanded immediate roll back of the hiked fuel price by the NDA-led Union Government. The party activists will submit a memorandum of demands to Governor Prof Ganesh Lal addressing the President of India.

The BJD activists have also decided to further intensify the protest in all the 314 blocks of Odisha against the Central Government’s anti-people policy.

Earlier the ruling BJD party workers had staged protests at different petrol pump across the State from 7 to 9 September to create awareness among the people on the frequent hike in the price of petroleum products by the central government.
