A video of Indian cricket supporters chanting “Rishabh Pant will hit you for a six, he will babysit your kids,” and taking a hilarious dig at Aussies has gone insanely viral on social media.
And going by Pant’s batting display on the Day 2 of the final Test, he has proven that he isn’t all talk and no substance.
As India breached the 500-run-mark on Day 2 of the Sydney Test, Cheteshwar Pujara piled up a mammoth 193 runs in India’s first innings, thereby surpassing Dravid in the most number of deliveries faced by an Indian Test cricketer in Australia.
But it was also Pant’s quick-fire century (159* in 189 deliveries) that diverted attention from Pujara’s heroics. Even before the 21-year-old Indian wicket-keeper crossed the three-digit mark, Indian fans in attendance reminded the hosts who they were dealing with in the center.
