India takes 1-0 lead, beats west indies by 8 wickets.

Guwahati – India took a 1-0 lead in the series after absolutely pounding West Indies in Guwahati on Sunday. Captain Virat Kohli and his deputy Rohit Sharma struck centuries as India made mince meat of a target of 323.Rohit Sharma remained unbeaten on 152 and completed the chase with Ambati Rayudu, who scored 22 not out. The highlight of the chase was the record 246-run partnership between Sharma and skipper Virat Kohli (140 off 107 balls).

Earlier, India won the toss and elected to field first in the 1st ODI against West Indies. The visitors got off to a rapid start courtesy Kieran Powell. Powell raced past 50, but then India hit back with two quick strikes in the second powerplay. And then Shimron Hetmyer took over and slammed a century. Few other contributions pushed Windies to 322.
