India concede Perth Test by 146 runs

India lost the second Test match against Australia by 146 runs at Perth. Chasing a target for 287 runs, India were bundled out for 140 runs. The series is now tied at 1-1 before the two sides head to Melbourne for the Boxing Day Test match.

Starting with the overnight score of 112/5, Hanuma Vihari and Rishabh Pant could only add seven runs before Vihari was out caught off the bowling of Mitchell Starc.

Rishabh Pant showed some resilience before throwing his wicket away with the score at 137. The lower order collapsed as India lost the last four wickets for four runs.

Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Starc picked three wickets apiece for the hosts. Only five Indian batsmen could get to double figures with Pant and Ajinkya Rahane top-scoring with 30 runs each.

Nathan Lyon was adjudged Man of the Match for picking up eight wickets in the match including a five-fer in the first innings.
