Bhubaneswar: Congress MLA from Jharsuguda Naba Kishore Das has been exonerated of the charge of watching porn in mobile inside the House during the Assembly session in 2015.
He was given clean chit by the Ethics Committee of Odisha Assembly, which turned down the allegation leveled against the legislator for lack of evidence.
As per the committee report which prepared a 9-page report following a meeting held on December 18, the panel did not find any evidence about the Jharsuguda lawmaker watching porn on his mobile in the House.
Earlier, the committee had asked for the media footage from a private news channel that had captured visual of Naba Das watching obscene video on his smartphone in the House.
However, the concerned media channel failed to submit the visual showing the MLA watching porn videos on his mobile device in the House.
The Junior Engineer (JE), who was in charge of the CCTV installed in Assembly, had produced the CCTV footage before the ethics committee on December 15. The JE did not find any evidence regarding this.
