Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, body of an undertrial prisoner was found hanging inside Jhardapa Special Jail under mysterious circumstances on Saturday.
Sources said that the deceased has been identified as Jitendra Biswal, who was lodged in the jail in connection with a rape case.
Biswal’s family members have been informed about the incident by the police, added the sources.
Meanwhile, police have started investigation into the incident to find out the reason what led him to take the extreme step. Biswal’s mortal remains have been sent to the Capital Hospital for postmortem.
