Naveen Announces PEETHA Scheme for People

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced the PEETHA (Peoples Empowerment – Enabling Transparency and Accountability of Odisha Initiatives) scheme on 3 December. This is a sub-scheme of the much successful “Ama Gaon Ama Bikas” programme.

An official release said, PEETHA is an initiative aimed at creation of awareness about various schemes of the State Government and improve transparency in distribution of individual and social benefits.

This is part of the 3-T initiative of Technology, Transparency and Team Work model of the Chief Minister, the release added.

The scheme will address Mission Shakti, Ama LED, Social Security Assistance like Madhu Babu Pension Yojana, Artistic pensions, etc.

According to the release, the State Government has decided to hold special camps at gram panchayat level throughout the State to address the PEETHA. The camps will be held on the dates 15 to 20 of every month.

The best panchyat in each block will be awarded with Rs. 5 lakh for organising PEETHA every month.

The release further said, block level observers will monitor the scheme and voluntary social workers will assist in its implementation.
