Cuttack: Veteran Odia movie actress Anita Das passed away following a cardiac arrest in the city on Friday. She was 57.
The actress who had shaped the course of motherhood in Ollywood movie industry and carved out a special place for herself in the hearts of Odia movie lovers died few minutes after reporting chest pain at her Shelter Chhak residence in the city and being rushed to a Nursing Home by family members this morning.
Anita had acted in over 100 movies, mostly in supporting roles, since staring her career in 1957. However, her feature film debut was with Jajabara (1975) with Sriram Panda in the lead role.
Other notable works of the late actress are Krishna Sudama (1976), Ramayan (1980), Maa-O-Mamata (1980), Swapna Sagara (1983), Pua Mora Kala Thakura (1988), Gadhi Janile Ghara Sundara (1994), Bahudibe Mo Jaga Balia (2003), Sathire (2004), Om Shanti Om (2005), Aama Bhitare Kichhi Achhi (2010), Shapath (2012) and Abhay (2017).
