Old video of Kangana Ranaut admitting to being a drug addict goes viral

A video of Kangana Ranaut admitting to once being a drug addict is going viral on social media now, amid the arrests of actor Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) as part of the probe into the case of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.

The video was posted on Kangana’s Instagram page in March when she was spending time at home in Manali. In it, she says she had become a film star and a drug addict in the short span after running away from home.

Jaise hi main ghar se bhaagi, dedh-do saal me main ek film star thi, ek drug addict thi. Meri zindagi me itne saare kaand chal rahe the ki main aise logo ke haathon mein lag chuki thi, ki jahaan se mujhe shaayad maut hi nikaal sakti thi. Itna sab danger ho chuka tha meri life me (As soon as I ran away from home, in around one and a half to two years, I became a film star and a drug addict. So much was happening in my life, I fell into the hands of such people and it seemed like only death could save me from it. By that time, so many dangerous things had happened in my life),” Kangana is seen saying in the video.

The National Award-winning actor had previously alleged that there was widespread use of drugs in the film industry. She also claimed that many actors were consuming cocaine, and that stars such as Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal should give their blood samples to clear their names. She had also named filmmaker Ayan Mukerji in the list.

Last week, Kangana had taken to social media to say that she would be obliged to give a drug test.

“I am more than happy to oblige @MumbaiPolice @AnilDeshmukhNCP please do my drug tests, investigate my call records if you find any links to drug peddlers ever I will accept my mistake and leave Mumbai forever, looking forward to meet you,” she had tweeted.

Kangana also claimed that Rhea, who was sent to 14-days custody in a drug case being investigated by the NCB as part of Sushant’s death case, was a “small time druggie”.
