Bhubaneswar: There will no student union polls in the Utkal University this year. A decision in this was taken after a high-level meeting by the university administration on 29 September.
A high-level meeting was chaired by the PG Council Chairman and members of advisory committee today. Seeing the situation of the university the administration has decided to scrap this year’s student elections.
As per the university authority, the situation in the Utkal University is out of control and the campus is still not completely free from antisocial activities and violence. Keeping in view the situation the authority has made the decision.
The university authority had also canceled the student elections last year after violence irrupted in the campus.
