Bhubaneswar: Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Rajendra Prasad Sharma today stressed the need for setting up the second police district in Bhubaneswar as the capital city is fast growing in various aspects, such as population, education, IT, transport, and traffic.
Speaking at the 11th Raising Day ceremony of Commissionerate Police at OSAP 7th Battalion Ground here, the DGP said, “There is a necessity for creating another police district in Bhubaneswar which will be instrumental in maintaining law and order. Therefore, I request the Police Commissioner to prepare a proposal in this regard.”
A proposal will be prepared in this regard very soon and will be submitted to the State Government, Sharma said.
The addition of one more police district will help to further strengthen policing system in the capital city, he added.
