India beat Malaysia in team squash semi-final

India’s good showing in athletics at the Asian Games 2018 continued on Day 12 as they surpassed all expectations for their best Asian Games performance in nearly seven decades but some disappointment in the men’s hockey semi-final took away some of the goodwill off the country’s sprint past the previous edition’s medal haul. The veteran Jinson Johnson and the women’s 4x400m relay team were the stars of the day with their golden show on the last day of the track-and-field competition in which India ended with 7 gold, 10 silver and 2 bronze medals; this is the country’s best haul since 1951. India also surpassed the previous edition’s overall tally of 57 by making it 59 with two more days of the competition still to go. The country also took its gold tally to 13, two more than what was won in 2014
